North Star Stories: Cutting edge stories for innovative minds.

Meet Donna Westover

To write, or not to write...that was never a question for me. My question was, what do I write about now? Mysterious Ways is Historical Fiction; The Genesis Factor Series is Thriller Fiction; Jesus Stories are Speculative Fiction; where do I go from here? Well, just as I did with The Genesis Factor Series, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and now writing a collection of murder mysteries. "What?" you ask. "Murder mysteries?" Yep, There are 2 main characters: Jackson Hill and Jillian Walker. Jackson is a Detective whose jurisidiction covers several small towns in northeast Colorado. Jillian, his fiancée, is an author wanting to broaden her horizons by taking on a genre in which she's not familiar, and that genre is mysteries. Murder mysteries to be exact. From there, I'm creating The New Adventures of Jack and Jill. (not your nursery rhyme.) The first novel, The Outsider, is available now, both on this webiste as well as amazon. com. The second book, A Time to Heal, will be released this Fall. As with all my books, this collection is also Faith-Based. The Lord has taught me so much while writing and has given me a desire to share his message through my books. My mission is to point people to Christ, THE author and finisher of our faith. I'm still praying 2022 brings many blessings for all of us. Although our nation is going through a crisis right now, I pray each of us grows in our faith, relying on our Father to bring us peace no matter what challenges may cross our paths in the future. And now, on to Jack and Jill. Thank you for being my Blessing,Donna
I will write with all the strength and energy that God supplies, so that God will be glorified.1 Pet. 4:11 TLB

Welcome to Swirls in the Bread Cafe'

Sweet niblets found in the Bread of Life

When being tempted by Satan, Jesus answered him saying, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4). The spiritual food Jesus was referring to is the Word of God, the Bible. I created a virtual coffee cafe' I named Swirls in the Bread Cafe' because, while the Bible is the Bread of Life and in-and-of itself 'delicious', sometimes I find a line, a word, something that stands out. I call these sweet morsel Swirls in the Bread. They're like those savory bites of cinnamon or sugar swirled in sweet Bread. The videos below are not devotionals, sermons, Bible lessons, or a class, but merely me sharing that sweet, delicious swirl that I found while having my daily devotion. So, grab a cup of coffee, get comfy, and enjoy these wonderful morsels and as you study God's word.
